FBI officials recently arrested a Dutch citizen in New York for allegedly selling $2.8 million worth of bogus Google stock.
Shamoon Rafiq was arrested on March 5, and stands accused of vending Google stock titled "Series B Preferred Stock". Part of Rafiq's con was to tell victims that they were being offered this stock before Google's anticipated initial public offering.
Google has denied that these shares exist and it has denied the reports of the company going public.
